About the Reparations Fund
The 365 Project Reparation Fund contrasts from lineage-based methodology that is being used in current reparations initiatives that are operating through government. One way of determining eligibility is to, “instead of using lineage as the sole metric, the state could use the same individual information to create an algorithm that determines how much wealth was stolen from each applicant.” This directly speaks to the small-scale organizing of The 365 Project. Though The 365 Project is not a state, nor will the Reparations Committee be asking for any historical or economic documentation to use in any algorithm to estimate specifically what was stolen. The 365 Project Reparations Committee, led by a group composed solely of Black Residents in Yellow Springs, determines the amount to distribute to an applicant based on their specific circumstances. Applicants must be of African descent and residents in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
